Responsibility of Ansar and VDP

(1) The main responsibility of the force shall be-

(a) providing assistance to the Government or any authority under the Government in public security work and participating in any other security work;


(b) Participating in any public welfare work directed by the Government with a view to improving the socio-economic condition of the country.


(2) In particular, and without prejudice to the provisions of the above, the Force shall, under the direction of the Government, render aid and assistance to the following forces, namely:-


(a) Ground Forces;


(b) Navy;


(c) Air Force;


(d) Bangladesh Rifles;


(e) the police force;


(f) Battalion Ansar


8 (1) The main responsibility of the Village Defense Team shall be:-


(a) To participate in public welfare activities aimed at improving the socio-economic condition of the country;


(b) providing assistance in law enforcement and public safety;


(c) perform any duties prescribed by the Government, from time to time


(2) The members of the Village Defense Team may carry and use arms and ammunition subject to the policies and orders made by the Government, from time to time, given instructions and conditions imposed.


 

To assist the police force in maintaining law and order. Eg:- Selection and appointment of qualified Ansar and VDP in national and local elections, Durga Puja.

Sending trainees to departmental training courses to impart various career oriented training as per the merit of platoon members/members in self-social development.

For selection and training of qualified trainees for various profession-based training including sewing, air conditioner, refrigerator, electrician, basic computer, motor driving, mobile phone set repair, welding, sweater knitting, poultry rearing and fishery and sending them to various training centers of the department according to the location.
